Tuesday, March 2nd marks the 9th week of our journey. When people ask about this study, I find it hard to explain. This type of study is in opposition to our culture of busyness, noise, quotas, and the general philosophy of 'doing.' This kind of "Holy Reading" forces us to to read the short text slowly and attentively several times, causing us to gravitate to certain words so that the Holy Spirit may illuminate to us understanding. And that understanding will be revolutionary.

Psalm 68: 17-18
17 Surrounded by unnumbered thousands of chariots,
the Lord came from Mount Sinai into his sanctuary.
18 When you ascended to the heights,
you led a crowd of captives.
You received gifts from the people,
even from those who rebelled against you.
Now the LORD God will live among us there.
Many translations say, “He gave gifts to men,” which is repeated in Ephesians 4: 8: “When He (Jesus) ascended the heights, he led a crowd of captives and gave gifts to his people.” Most theologians believe this refers to Christ, when after being crucified, went to hell and won our freedom along with the ‘rights’ to all things.
Today think about the ‘crowd of captives’ you know, even those who are yet rebellious and pray that they will be found in the Lord’s procession, crowned with gifts. Ephesians 4: 11 says, “He (Jesus) is the one who gave these gifts to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelist, and the pastors and the teachers.” Record who you ‘see’ in God’s parade.

Prayer Journey.... "A Great Company"
"A Great Company" is a contemplative prayer journey through Psalm 68. It is an at-home devotion, intended to be done once a week, on Tuesday, sometime during the fourth watch (anytime between 3 am and 6 am).
Psalm 68:11, "The Lord gave the word and great was the company of those that published it." The word company in the original Hebrew language implies a female company!
